Man City could use West Ham ‘interest’ in Nathan Ake over Declan Rice move and more transfer rumors

West Ham United are reportedly interested in Manchester City defender Nathan Ake.

The Hammers’ victory over Liverpool last month was overshadowed by the season-ending injury to center-back Angelo Ogbonna.

Ogbonna had been a defensive mainstay for David Moyes’ side as they continued their impressive physical form which saw them advance to the Europa League round of 16 and place in the top four.

But now they’ll have to do without the defender as he recovers from an anterior cruciate ligament injury.

As a result, City defender Ake has been linked with a move to London stadium as West Ham seeks defensive reinforcements as the season draws closer to halfway.

The Dutchman starred in the win against Aston Villa earlier this week as Pep Guardiola was forced to make a number of changes, his fourth start to the Premier League season.

According to 90min, West Ham were looking for additional cover for Kurt Zouma’s summer signing and reports that Moyes’ team will be looking to secure a loan deal – at this point – that would include a purchase obligation.

City are said to be reluctant to bolster a Premier League rival with a £ 41million defender, but could be open if the Hammers come up with the right price and indicate a willingness to discuss a future move for their captain, Declan Rice.

Elsewhere, it has been reported that City are on the lookout for RB Leipzig forward Dani Olmo.

The Spaniard is targeted by his former club Barcelona, but talks between the two have been put on hold as they negotiate a deal for Ferran Torres.

Spanish media Sport via Sports witness reports that Olmo was in favor of a move, but that circumstances have changed due to Cules’ deteriorating financial situation and the appointment of legendary midfielder Xavi.
