Millwall’s Loan Watch: Defender on Another League One Promotion Load as Pompey Keeps Running

MAHLON Romeo looks set for a third League One play-off challenge of his career as Portsmouth continued their strong run, beating Morecambe 2-0 on Saturday.

Romeo played the entire game at right-back as Danny Cowley’s side extended their unbeaten game to eight games.

Marcus Harness scored his 10th goal of the season and Connor Ogilvie was also on target for the hosts.

Pompey is eighth, one point away from the play-offs, and will travel to AFC Wimbledon next Saturday.

In Ligue 2, Alex Mitchell was on the losing side for just the second time in 18 games for Leyton Orient as they were beaten 2-1 by Crawley Town at Brisbane Road.

Goals from George Francomb and Kwesi Appiah put the visitors 2-0 up.

Kenny Jackett’s side recovered a goal thanks to an own goal by goaltender Glenn Morris, but finished with 10 men after captain Darren Pratley was sent off in added time for a second bookable offense.

Mitchell played 74 minutes. Former Millwall players Tony Craig and Jack Powell were on Crawley’s side.

Orient is ninth and will travel to Tranmere Rovers next Saturday.

Also in Ligue 2, Isaac Olaofe missed Sutton United’s 2-2 draw at Bradford City with a dead leg.

Sutton is sixth and will host Harrogate on Saturday.

In the National League, right-back Dan Moss made his 20e appearance of the season as Adi Yussuf scored the only goal in the ninth minute to give Yeovil a 1-0 home win over Barnet.

Yeovil climbs to ninth place, four points away from the play-offs, ahead of his next league game at Torquay United on Boxing Day.

The Glovers are at home against Woking in the FA Trophy next Saturday.

It was a 10e Game of the season for Junior Tiensia at the last club of Dover Athletic, who lost 2-1 to the penultimate King’s Lynn Town.

Former Lions forward Alfie Pavey scored for the visitors between Josh Barrett’s brace.

Dover have four draws and 15 losses in 19 games and minus eight points.

Dover hosts Bromley in the FA Trophy on Saturday. Their next league game is at home against Dagenham and Redbridge on Boxing Day.

In the National League South, defender Arthur Penney Welling United lost 3-1 away to the Dorking Wanderers.

Tom Derry netted a goal for the visitors before Niall McManus equalized four minutes later.

Barry Fuller went 2-1 in the 59e minute and Alfie Rutherford added a third in the first minute of added time.

Welling drops to 17e in the table. The Wings are home at Dulwich Hamlet on December 26.
