Rajiv Ranjan Jha takes over as CEO of Power Finance Corporation


New Delhi: Power Finance Corporation Ltd, a Maharatna CPSE company and the leading non-bank finance company focused on the energy sector in India, today announced the appointment of Shri Rajiv Ranjan Jha as Director (Projects).

Jha previously worked as an Executive Director (Projects) at PFC before his rise to the coveted position. In his new role, he will be responsible for developing and implementing strong strategies to venture into new business avenues and also overseeing ongoing projects funded by the company.

Previously, he was responsible for the entire loan portfolio of private sector projects under consortium lending with PFC as lead financial institution. He also managed the renewable energy loan portfolio and worked extensively in the area of ​​project appraisal (especially for independent private power projects). He has also been involved in the development and allocation of UMPPs for which PFC is the nodal agency. Shri Jha was instrumental in resolving some of the large scale stressed assets with a loan value of around Rs 10,000 crore.

Prior to joining PFC, he had worked for over eight years with the Visakhapatnam Steel Plant (Rashtriya Ispat Nigam Ltd.) and was responsible for the operation and maintenance of their captive coal-based power plant. Shri Jha holds a Bachelor of Science (Mechanical Engineering) from NIT Jamshedpur at Ranchi University and an Advanced Diploma in Management from IGNOU.
